In 1954, the tooling for the 1938 streamline version of the Dietz D-Lite was reworked to create the #8 Air Pilot, in response to demand for "Air Pilot" lanterns from former Embury customers. This model is the last Streamline lantern still manufactured by Dietz and is the only "#2" size lantern to utilize a rising cone burner. It stands at a height of 13 1/2" with a 7 3/4" base diameter and has a fount capacity of 31 oz. The lantern provides a burning time of 27 hours and has an average candle power of 14 with a 7/8" wick. It is an ideal choice for camping or emergencies, and comes pre-wicked and ready for oil.
